What I Would Do Without My Friends

They say you go to college and meet your bridesmaids.

I came to college and found my soulmates.

Without my friends, without my sisters, without my brothers, without my pledge class, without my sorority, without my big, without my roommates, without my guy friends, without you I would be more than lost.

Without each of you, I wouldn’t know what to do with myself.

Without you, I wouldn’t have anyone to talk with or laugh with.

Without you, I wouldn’t know how to laugh at myself.

Without you, I wouldn’t know about the best Mexican and sushi places.

Without you, I wouldn’t visit art museums, take day trips into Philly or visit the King of Prussia Mall.

Without you, my closet and stomach wouldn’t be as full because I wouldn’t have anyone to shop or try new restaurants with.

Without you, I would fail most of my exams but I’m sure you would all do much better without my distractions.

Without you, I wouldn’t dance, because I would have no one to dance with or dance for. Also, I’m sorry that I’m such a terrible dancer.

Without you, I would definitely find myself in a lot more messes and unsure or unable to get myself out of those sticky situations. I wouldn’t be safe without you.

Without you, I probably would be ordering out every night, draining my bank account but also missing out on making dinners with you.

Without you, I wouldn’t know about funny words like jughandles or places like Kimmie’s or know so much about gluten-free foods.

Without you, I’d still be curled up in bed, sick with my allergies or bronchitis or some other kind of ailment.

Without you, I would cry by myself, alone in my room, without anyone to hug or console me.

Without you, I would be lost. I would be alone. I would be scared. I wouldn’t have anywhere to turn. I wouldn’t have anywhere to run.

Without you, I wouldn’t know what it’s like to be a friend, or to have a friend.

Without you, I wouldn’t know how to depend on someone and have someone depend on me.

Without you, I wouldn’t be me.
